Update to letter to MLB

can't believe some of the responses I'm hearing from people on this subject..."let them advertise" That's the lazy type of attitude that puts fans in these situations that will continue to get worse. Get up, say something about what you feel is right, and write a letter or protest if you feel passionate about something. I, for one, am tired of seeing the walls in MLB splattered with ads, that's my beef. So, instead of just sitting there, I'm trying to be more proactive and stop this over commercialization of MLB. If the fans don't say anything, it's only going to get worse, and worse, and worse.

My comments about the NFL is simply they have not sold out the field or players uniforms to corporate USA. Baseball's ads in the outfield have everything to do with Tivo my friends and NOTHING to do about ticket prices. Tivo elminates commercials, therefore, these massive corporations have to get their logo in front of you in one way shape or form....so, they plaster their ads all over the backstop and outfield walls, where all the highlights show their ads.

So go ahead, be lazy, think that your word has no affect on the outcome of things. Or, get up and do something about it and tell MLB that it's not OK to blanket the field with ads. In 1776, the average American was hit with rough 100+ ads a day (TV, billboards, etc.). In 2008, the average American gets hit with over 6,000 ads per DAY!!!!

You think ESPN would ever run a story about this? Heck no, because they make money on those ads as well.

Please people, let's get one thing straight, baseball owners are NOT hurting for money. These ads in the outfiled simply just pad their already PHAT wallets, bottom line.

Don't call me lazy. I showed you that there was as much or more advertising in the 50s than there is now. No comment on that?
I showed you that the NFL actually stops the game multiple times per game to show commercials and that they have advertised on the field of play.
