Seattle Seahawks Blog
A win is a win and one that the Hawks really needed came on Sunday. Despite his injury, Hasselbeck held it together enough to move the offense effectively throughout the game. Our defense looked great, although, I still saw too many 4 man rushes. St. Louis is garbage people, remember that. Good to see we blew out a crappy team, but we still need to improve in many areas. Holmgren still needs to get Matt out of the pocket more, call a few screen passes, and call a few trick plays...our offense is horribly predictable. Our redzone offense could also use some help, and that comes from getting Alexander out of the game more. GREAT work Holmgren in listening to the boos at Seahawks Stadium.....we are tired of watching Shaun fall down. Get the ball in the hands of a hungrier Maurice Morris and Weaver....they at least run with a purpose. Alexander needs to accept the fact that his best days are behind him. Do what Fred Taylor did in Jax....you're not the same RB in your 30's and give some carries to the younger folk around you.
Tailgating in Seattle:
Seattle is the worst city in the NFL when it comes to actually enforcing tailgating. No other city gives a crap about it, so why does Seattle try and BAN it so much? If Seattle cops/legislature would just chill out like the rest of the country, there would be less problems. It's amazing what happens when you actually liberate crowds. Take San Francisco for example. You can tailgate all day at football games, you can drink in the streets at street fairs, and guess what? In 7 years of living down here from Seattle, I've never seen a fight at a tailgate or at a bar.
Paul Allen, please do your part and get these stupid laws re-written. You own half the city, so do something about it.

Comments:
I went to the Seahawks game on Sunday with my six year old. I typically meet with a group of like minded Hawks fans there for brats and Italian sausage, grilled salmon, etc. There were flyers all around Qwest Field putting us on notice that tail gating is being banned for future games. It is not entirely clear who is behind this, but the most credible rumor is the Liquor Control Board is cracking down saying underage drinking is going on. Interesting that I can have a beer in front of my son at home (or for that matter in Qwest Field at $8 a glass) but I cannot be trusted to do so in a parking lot near Qwest Field.
Last week there was a big crackdown on underage drinking. The ever so famous a couple screw ups ruined it for all of us. I think the owners of the Tailgater heaven finally cracked under pressure. The area was on the front page of the Seattle Times and I think it made them think twice about their risk. If you want to see a great place to tailgate got to the new AZ statium. The whole area is set up for it. They even have a big huge patch of grass where the kids can play football and throw the ball around.
