Hawks dominate, but still need work

Seattle Seahawks Blog

The Good:

1. The D looked great yesterday, but I think we can all agree, that game did an about face when Smith was taken out. The final score would have been much closer if he played, bottom line.

2. Hasselbeck: Was on all day yesterday minus the one pick. His TD pass to Engram was one of the best throws I have seen in a long time.

3. Holmgren mixing it up! GREAT to see the use of Seneca in there's a wrinkle, a twist, something different. GOOD TO SEE...

4. Neon Branch: The guy is a fricking stud, no doubt about it. I'd trade 4 first round picks for that guy

The Bad:

1. Shaun still running soft:get Morris more involved to get that speed element back in our line-up....will Alexander ever be able to break a 20 yard run again?

2. Seattle still needed to put the dagger in the game yesterday, but settled for FG's. Going 5-17 on third downs and missing on plenty of 3rd and one's didn't help matters. Why doesn't Holgrem line up in the I-form and run behind Weaver or Strong for an almost sure fire first down? The single back set does nothing for us.

3. Special Teams: What beat Cincy last week hurt us this week: awareness around the onside kick (Nolan has done 8 of these in 2 aware!) and the blocked punt was not good. Not sure if it's the long snapper or what.

The real test is next week in Pittsburgh.....

The local shows around here have been on Holmgren for not putting them away. After the first half and the int after the onside kick the game was on it's way to a blowout. People do not realize that Holmgren grew up in the 49rs org. The last thing he wants to do is embarrass them
