Mariners and Seahawks updates
Seattle Mariners Blog:
This team needs to shake off the cobwebs from the Angels drubbing and get their crap together soon. They have had a great 2007 season so far and should stay focused on the prize: a chance to get into the playoffs. They are NOT out of the race by any stretch, whether it's the AL West or Wild Card seeds. Stay focused, stay positive, and start winning some games. We are in September folks, it's time to step or step out.
Seattle Seahawks Blog:
Thank God the pre-season is over.....the pre-season is nothing but a money making promotion for the NFL, bottom line. There's absolutely not reason why the pre-season can't be reduced to say 2 or 3 games. Ok, enough bitching, onto our analysis. We looked good in spurts for both the #1 offense and #1 defense, however, there is still a great deal of work this teams to do. I do like the fact that Holmgren does not give away much as far as new plays or strategies during the pre-season. Let's see if he really sticks to his words about opening up the offense. Will we finally run a fricking trick play? Will we ever run out of shotgun? Time will tell of ole' Mike can change his conservative ways. Seneca? Nothing much has improved in my mind of his performance vs. last season when he lead the team. He is a turnover machine, whether it's fumbles or interceptions. He needs to hunker down and start looking like an NFL quarterback, which in my mind he's not there. Most importantly: COME OUT GUNS ABLAZING AGAINST TAMBA BAY!!! It's often that the Hawks start the first game of the season getting their bells rung. Holmgrem should make this week one of the hardest of the season....be prepared and go for the throat early and often in week #1. Set a statement, don't come out soft.

Seattle Mariners lose again
Seattle Mariners Blog:
Boy, talk about laying an egg in the opening series against LAA. Can someone on the face of the earth tell my why the HELL Richie Sexson continues to be able to insert himself into the line-up? He is an absolute cancer, going 0-3 AGAIN last night and still hitting a whopping .210. Please, McLaren, please put in Broussard. At least that guy has a chance to get a hit and NOT strikeout every fricking time he's up to bat. Richie, you used roids, admit it, get off the field!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Seattle, pull out these next two games and we're alive. I think we can beat LAA, it's just a matter of getting some offense going. That means, pull Sexson out of the line-up!!!

Baseball stadium advertising
Baseball stadium advertising....
Has gotten out of hand. Do you ever watch old highlights and see the stadium walls bare? Bud Selig should follow the advise of the NFL and NOT allow advertising in any portion of the playing field. It's ridiculous how much advertising BLANKETS every wall in every stadium in major league baseball. It's TOO much frankly and something needs to be done. I suggest writing to the commissioner of baseball and complain. These billion dollar owners don't need to be making incremental money off a few banner ads in the out field. I'm fine with the ads inside the stadium and the scrolling ads on the facades. Everybody and their mom knows those ads are there for the highlights on SportsCenter and we all know those are not going away anytime soon. Anyone ever see a special on SportCenter talking about how bad advertising has gotten in sports? Course not, because it's how they make $$$$ as well.
Well, at least the Mariners are continuing to kick ass!!!! Now, if only the Angels can start losing. It seems as if Seattle hits stride the same time Los Angeles does and we can't gain any major ground.

Mariners and Hawks
Seattle Mariners Blog:
They just keep winning, unfortunately for them, the Yankees and Angels keep winning as well. Seattle needs Los Angeles to go on a four game losing streak or face a tough team on the road such as Boston or New York. Kudos to the Mariners and especially Jeff Weaver. After a deplorable start, the guy is starting to play like the $$$ we paid him. Keep it up Seattle, the other teams will eventually start to lose...hopefully.
Seattle Seahawks Blog:
The first units looked great, especially the offense. Expect to see a good number of 3 WR sets for Seattle this year with Pollard being used in first and second down situations. Hass, Shaun, pass protection, Engram and Branch all looked great. Seneca on the other hand....man, he struggled early and often. A horrible interception, a stupid fumble, a poor decision on a fourth down...he looked like crap, basically. Smart decision for Holmgren to leave him in and pick things up in the second half. Other game balls go to Weeks, Obomanu, and Tapp. Especially Tapp, who should be getting some serious game time this year and make a case for himself starting over Fisher. He's not there yet, but very, very close. For teh defense, we gave up a few 3rd and longs to a 5 4' inch 4.1 running Sproles, however, we looked fairly solid. That's all we need to get some w's.

M's lose, Steven David and Oberto win
Seattle Mariners Blog:
Boy oh boy, did we get our asses handed to us by the much better team this weekend. Seattle was exploited where it hurts most and what separates good teams from moderate teams: starting pitching. The Washburn's and Batisa's of the pitching world CANNOT compete with the Beckett's and Dice K's of the world, bottom line. If our offense is not able to get to these types of pitchers, consider the M's a one and done canidate in the playoffs (even if they can get there).
On the flip side (no pun intended), congrads to the Miss Oh Boy OBerto hydroplane this weekend. Even without the dramatic final heat minus the Miss Beacon Plumbing and with The Elam being washed out, Steven David deserves this win. Moreover, for Art OBerto to finally get a win in his home town on his 80th birthday, the stage was set for a perfect day for the beef jerkey boat. We are also very interested to see how the new Red Dot boat competes in San Diego with a new driver. Cool looking boat and it obviously showed that his has the boat speed to compete.

The 2007 Seattle Mariners: The "Misfits"
Seattle Mariners Blog:
This team is truely amazing when it comes to a number of things, but bottom line, they just keep WINNING. That was a gutsy win last night despite the rare troubles of Putz in the 9th. Thank GOD Mclaren finally decided not to start Sexson. Keep his ass on the bench the rest of the year!
You gotta love this team and we are nick-naming them the "Misfits": Guillen, Vidro, Batista, etc were all guys that have been around a while, never really fit in anywhere, but are finding a home with this team. I mean, you look at our starting pitching...who's our Ace? Our top record guy is Eric O`Flaherty with a 7-0 record. I guess Felix is the ace, but with a 7-6 record, he's no go to guy right now. Bottom line, they have solid hitting, solid defense, and an almost unstopable bullpen.
Keep up the kicking ass Seattle Mariners....you're making us believers again

Richie Sexson is GARBAGE!
Seattle Mariners Blog:
Can SOMEONE on the Mariners team finally say enough is enough with Richie Sexson and pull his ass out of the starting line-up? He is absolute crap and killing the Mariners right now. Can you believe he is one of the highest paid players in baseball? Can you say that he was probably using steriods these last couple of years, and now that they cracked down, he's been caught. Whatever it is, put in Broussard! At least that guy can hit!
