Hydros, Hawks, M's, and more

Seattle Sprots Blog:

So much going on right now we can hardly contain ourselves!

First and foremost, congrats to the Miss Elam team for their fourth straight win this year. Funny how we used to root for them vs. the Bud, but now they have basically replaced the Bud as the "evil empire." Dave Villwock seems like a man possesed this year and it's going to take a lot to de-throne this team this year.

Seattle Mariners Blog:

Nice recovery after heading to what seemed like a toilet ending to a good season. The problem? The Angels keep winning. Seattle has a 3 game series with them coming up. Is it mission critial that they sweep? No, but they should try and at least take 2 out of 3 and prove their worth. Seattle is a different team at home and should be able to ride the momentum of winning 3 out of four from Oakland. These games will be closely watched by the national eye to see if Seattle is indeed playing for keeps.

Seattle Seahawks Blog:

Man oh man, are we pumped for the Hawks this year. Training camp is here, the hitting begins, and we think this is the best chance Seattle has to getting back to the Superbowl....especially with the game being played on the Left Coast finally! This is the year of the Hawk, according to Chinese culture (ok, just kidding, but come on, it has a nice ring to it :) )

Seafair is HERE this week...does it get any better???!!!!?????

Seattle Mariners are in trouble

The M's need to get some starting pitching and fast before the trade deadline. Dontrell Willis? Andy Benes? Anyone, but this team is not going to the post season given their current starting pitching, bottom line.

Anyone have further insights from Hargrove's departure? Knowing the lack of smarts on Bavasi, I'm betting he got fed up with the lack of good management from Bavasi, Chuckie Armstrong, and Howard Lincoln.

This teams also lacks Charisma!!! Where are the high fives? Where is the fire? This team is as sleepy as the town of Seattle and they need someone to light a fire under their asses.

The Angels are there for the taking....time for Seattle to get some fresh blood, make a fricking trade, and play with some enthusiam!!!

M's hit the road

Seattle Mariners Blog:

This team, in a nutshell, it's beyond the "over-achiever" status as they continue to just do the bottom line, WIN. They are in a prime position to take this division with the Angels swaggering. I'm looking forward to the next series they have with them to prove who is the real deal in this division.

Concerns, however? Yes, many. Something still needs to be done with Richie Sexson. Yes, he can be the big bopper, but we sacrafice a lot putting that guy in crucial situations hitting .201. Keep him platooning with Brousrd. 75/25% of the time and we should be ok. Keep him also in the #6-#8 spots. He does NOT deserve to be in the #5 slot right now.

Starting pitching. Are we going to content with our current pitching staff? NO, we have a great bullpen, and average starting pithching. Who's our ace? Felix? Judging by how well Washburn has been pitching, my gut is with him. Seattle needs to be SERIOUS and pick up a Dontrell Willis. Trading deadline is in 2 week people and you can bet your bottom dollar that the Yankees and Red Sox are making moves. Time to step up, or lose momentum.

Hydroplane blog updates

Hydroplane Blog:

It certainly appears that after a disappointing 2006 season that the Miss Elam Plus has come back roaring in 2007. With 3 consecutive wins, the "parity" on the 2006 has all but washed away with a dominating performance so far. It's good to see the Miss Madison/Oberto team in the running with the new boat, but Dave Villwock and the rest of the Elam team really appears focused and determined this year. Where is the Miss Beacon Plumbing team and the dynamic star Jean Theoret? He has yet to show that 2006 was not a fluke. We really like the Beacon team here at Seattle Sports Blog and we hope they can pull out of this early season slump. This much is for sure, Villwock hasn't won this many races in his career for nothing.

Onto the Tri-cities and hopes for a new winner in the Western swing!

Mariners and Sonics coaching holes

Seattle Sports Blog:

Mariners:

Something seems all too fishy on this one, and I smell a rift between Bavasi and Hargrove. I'm sorry, but you just don't go and quit on a team that you've built for 3 years when they are winning. I suspect that it boiled down to a contract situation and Bavasi, Howard the dumb ass Lincoln, and Chuckie I'm equally as much of a dumb ass Armstrong couldn't reach an agreement. So, now we have a bench coach as our manager. Hmmmmmm, fishie. Who's available? I'd hope that we could find a somewhat veteran coach to lead a team that is 5 games out of first place and 100% in the hunt for a wild-card shot.

Sonics:

As much as I like what Presti has done so far with the draft (the Allen/Green deal was brilliant), I'm not a big fan of his narrowing down to PJ and Casey. Actually, I like Casey over PJ, bottom line. PJ to me is just another Bob Wiess or Bob Hill....an older guy that doesn't do well in the spot light...a better assistant coach than a head coach. Casey has little head coaching experience, but he got a bad wrap in Minnesota during a brief tenure. He get's our vote at Seattle Sports Blog.
