2007 Seattle Marines....done

Seattle Mariners Blog:

As we sit here on another beautiful day in the Northwest, we can't help but cringe at the state of the Seattle Mariners. As they trail ONCE again to the Angels right now as we type 6-1, we LAUGH at people like Seattle Times columnist Larry Stone who wrote blissful articles about how "the Mariners have just as good as shot as anyone in the AL." Come on Larry, quit sucking up to those that pay your checks and write about the truth; Richie Sexson should have been a pro volleyball player than a baseball player with his amazing .174 batting average (and being the 12th highest paid player in baseball mind you), how Bavasi couldn't make a move this off-season to bring in ANY good starting pitching, even a guy like Jason Schmidt who, if you can beleive this, has actually said he wants to play for the Mariners. Hargrove? Can't say the guy is really making any stellar moves on the batting line-up to change things. Our two best players are from Japan, and Nintendo is just sucking in the profits of us idiot fans who GO to the games and buy the video games and Ichiro gear. As we've said here at Seattle Sports Blog for the last 2 years, PROTEST going to these games....do NOT attend until we have either new ownership or a new fricking front office.....someone needs to overhaul this team....and FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seattle Sonics headed to Oklahoma

Seattle Sonics Blog 2007:

Can you say, "see you later!" Here we go again, the ultra-conservative Olympia legislature with their big stick up their asses. No support for public transportation, no support for making more parks in downtown Seattle vs. the 600 cement parking lots, no support for the Seattle Supersonics to stick around a city where they have been for 40 years!

I mean, look at this Frank Chopp guy....you think this guy has anything better to do in his life than to not pass laws for public funding for a new arena? The guy is a nerd who's never played sports and would rather have legislature that puts more money in his pocket!!!!

See you later Sonics...sorry our ultra conservative representatives are still stuck in 1982.

2007 Seattle Mariners Blog

Seattle Mariners Blog:

Well, well, well, so far so good with the start of the 2007 season. If we can get our starters to stay in games until the 6th or so giving up 3-4 runs, we have a shot at a playoff spot. Felix is the real deal so far and if he can stay focused, he can get us 18-20 wins. The true test for this team will be how they fair in close games. They haven't been involved in too many nail bitters yet and we're still very wary of this middle relief on this team. Good news: Ichiro, Guillen, Vidro, and Beltre are HOT right now, just what this team needs. We need to get good starts of our Weaver and Washburn to stay consistent.

More to come......

True colors shinning through

2007 Seattle Marniners Blog:

Down 14-1 against Boston in Boston in the 7th inning......I think we should expect to see MORE of this from this team this year.

Countdown for Bavasi's job starts NOW: we give the Bozo 3 months and he's gonzo.....

Florida Gators: 2007 basketball domination

National Sports Blog:

Kudos to the Florida Gators for dominating college basketball this year and proving once again that team oriented bball wins championships. Ohio State was a talented, but very young team and Florida's seniority proved to be too much for the Buckeyes to handle. Noah and Brewer are the "well-knowns" on this team, but the little guys like Humphries and their 3 headed monster at center helped with Harford and crew contributing to the defense of Oden. Oden is the real deal and as much as we LOVE college basketball here at Seattle Sports Blog, we think his time is now to go to the NBA. The Sonics have a great opportunity to pick this guy up, so let's hope the lottery ball drops our way. Gary Payton was the highest pick we've ever had and we should be in prime position to get the #1.

Mariners off to a 2-1 start

Seattle Mariners Blog:

Don't get fooled folks, there are still a ton of answers remaining on this team. Good news is that Felix looks like he is definitely ready to step up and be a 18-20 game winner. He's got to stay focused though and not follow the hype or get lazy. Sexton is off to a surprising start with 2 HR's in 2 games. So far, the newbies haven't produced much and that stellar pick up we made Miguel Batista looked HORRIBLE last night. Welcome to Seattle Miguel, prove us wrong and see if you can have a better than .500% winning percentage this year. This guy has Jarod Washburn writen all over him.

Opening Day: Seattle Mariners 2007

Seattle Mariners Blog:

Ah, the fresh cut smell of grass, the taste of a cold beer, the sounds of a train whizzing by in downtown Seattle can only mean one thing....it's the start of another disappointing year for the Seattle Mariners. As much as we try and have faith in our local team and heroes, this is a tough one to root for.

Here are a couple of things we will be following for this year's team:

1. How long will Bozo Bavasi, Chuckie Armstrong, Mike Hargrove, and Howard "I should have retired about 10 years ago" Lincoln last? Our bet is that Hargrove will be the first to fall and Bavasi will be forced out. Hopefully, Nintendo, if they have ANY brains, will do a full board sweep of the front office. I mean ,the Wii is selling like hotcakes......time to spend some $$$$$ on top management.

2. Felix: Is he the real deal? Can he do better than a .500 winning %? Time will tell. They say that he's improved this year, but time will tell. Even if he goes 20-4, the rest of the starting rotation is deplorable

3. Richie Sexson: Can he strike out 300 times and produce 50 HR's? Can you say the second coming of Dave Kingman?

4. Ichiro: will he jump ship and play for a real team? Can the Mariners owners clean house before he makes his decision? Let's hope so.

5. The new M's: Dos Jose's and a horrible Horacio: Do Jose Vidro or Guillen have anything left in the tanks? Can Horacio be the next Ayala or Charleton? These were 3 below market pick-ups by Bozo Bavasi who aren't going to do squat for this team this year...mark our words.

6. Will the real Adrian Beltre please stand-up? Remember folks, this guy is one of the best paid players in baseball and hasn't done crap for producing BIG #'s. His glove is great, but his batting average and HR's are down, down, down. Can he hit 30 HR's again? We think not.

Good luck Seattle.....we'll be watching daily to see you implode and hopefully changes are on the way by June 2007.
