Washington Mens Basketball Blog:
Well, that was about as ugly a game as UW has played all year. There must be something to be told about the fact that young teams have trouble winning on the road...unless you are of course the Fab 5. Hawes' didn't exactly tear up the nets last night, shooting 5-13 with 3 turnovers. Dentmon? Good shooting night (5-7), but he is still a major liability out there and pretty much a walking time-bomb with the ball in his hands. Anyone else catch that traveling call that was a no call with .50 seconds left? That would have killed us and given momentum back to ASU. Appleby may have been 2-10 shooting, but those 2 FG's were 3's and came at crucial times (like when it was 45-41 with about 4:00 min's left). Bottom line, an ugly win, win #2 on the road for us (what a coinsidence, the other was against ASU as well)
From here, they have to play perfect basketball tonight to beat WSU. Wazzu's slow it down pace may actually favor the Dawgs tonight given they may be a bit tired from last night's game. Hawes and Brockman HAVE to dominate tonight or we are in big trouble. Feed the ball into them with good passes and have them kick it out for open 3's.
Seattle Sports Blog will be watching with our fingers crossed.......
