UW Dawgs look impressive

WOW, is all we can say. That was about as dominating a performance against a top 20 team that I can recall UW playing in for some time. Hawes and Brockman....can you please stay all 4 years? Doubt that will happen, so UW needs to take advantage of having these guys together AND GET TO THE FINAL FOUR. After watching that game last night, there is no reason to think that UW will not be denied a trip to the final 4. They have everything you need: a good point gaurd who can distribute, domination at the C and PF position (some teams like Bradley last year had a 7 footer, but no back-up...if Hawes gets in foul trouble, Brockman can step in) and unbelievable outside shooting. Think about it people...you can't leave Appleby, Burmiester, Oliver, Pondexter, and now Nelson open out on the wings...they are too good of outside shooters. Therefore, it opens up the middle for Hawes and Brockman to dominate.

UW is going to be a force to recon with this year....and 2007 is the year they NEED to go to the Final Four, bottom line. Anything less would be a major disappointment.

Overall, just a great game last night for this team. Brockman and Hawes both putting up double digit points and rebounds is tough to compete with and the dynamic 3 point squad we have was lights-out on fire last night.

What I was most impressed with was the toughness that Brockman showed down low. After the game it looked like the guy went a few rounds with Tyson. I was at the game and watched them almost the whole game. He beat big baby to the box, and out muscled him. By the end of the game Brockman had fresh legs and big baby was so beat down he was cramping and flopping all over the place. The tough time the team was having at the beginning of the year is now over. Last years team was a slashing and 3 point group. This group is a pound it down low and distribute from the key. I just can not wait to see what they will be like in March.
