There is a black cloud hanging over all Seattle Sports Teams.....and it's called "East Coast Bias." The UW-Uconn game was the WORST officiated game I have seen in a long, long time. All 3 offcials were from the Big East or Big 10 and have never seen UW play. That's only 1/10th of the problem w/ the officiating in that game. Let's be honest folks, ESPN/CBS covers all of those east coast coferences ALL year long and they are much more familiar w/ Uconn. You could even hear the announcer Bill Raferty indicating that "he didn't know much about this team." For God's sake, he knows more about Seton Hall than UW basketball. At some point, UW and the Pac 10 is going to have to lobby for more air time on the major networks or you're going to have more East Coast bias crap like last night.
There were a NUMBER of calls in that game that were killers for UW (anyone recall any calls going against Uconn?). Here's a few: Dentmon fouls out after Williams trips over his own feet. The non-goal tending call..that would have put UW up by 1 in OT. result? Uconn gets the ball and MORE free throws. Speaking of fricking free throws, I HATE more than anything when a game is determined by free throws. Uconn shot 47 of them vs. 23 for UW. That is NOT basketball people and it reminds me of game 7 of the Sonics 1993 season vs. Phoenix when Barkley had 24 himself, 62 as as team. Let the players play the game, you East Coast Assholes! Speaking of Assholes, Rudy Gay is the most overated player in college basketball. He is just another dumb idiot who can dunk the ball, and that's it. He'll go no where in the NBA.
Finally, even the fans at the game knew that game was a joke....did anyone else notice the loud BOOOOOOO's at the end of that game....because the officials won that game for Uconn, no question about it. What an absolute joke! Fuck the East Coast, that's all I can say. Seattle/UW fans, don't be passive about this......call out the NCAA, Seattle Times/Seattle PI writers.......that's the biggest beef I have w/ you fellow Seattle fans....be passionate like the rest of the country and BITCH to go make justice served!

Another Seattle team gets the Shaft. I am going to start a Knitting club. Yes sports Fans no longer will this Washington Native and avid sports fan pay another dollar to get my heart ripped out. The sad part is that I am starting to realize why my dad has always been so negative at sporting events.
Growing up it would just piss me off sooooo much that in the 6th inning after one crappy play my dad would get overly pissed of then say "well there’s the ballgame" "there is no way we are winning". I always thought it was such a defeatist attitude. I now realize what he was doing. He was just jumpstarting the levels of Greif. First is anger, then comes denial and then comes acceptance. So the earlier it starts, the faster you come to grips.
Let’s analyze this "Pre-Greif" idea. Subject A goes to a Mariners Playoff game against the Yanks. So it is the bottom of the 6th and Pinero just gave up a 3 run homer. Resulting in a one run lead for the Yanks. Subject A is relatively young and has a pure sports heart. He follows the Mariners religiously, has all the Ichiro Bobble heads and still has the "refuse to lose" sticker on the back of his 89 golf. Thinking only good things he goes into the 9th inning sitting on the edge of his seat clasping his hands rocking back and forth thinking oh man Richie Sexson can win it with one swing on this 3-2 count 2 men out one man on.
The pitch .......... What the hell was that!!!!!!!!! That F*&$%*# ball was 3 feet outside and up in his eyes!!!!!!! That was not a strike!!!!! Let’s see the replay!!!!!!!!! HOLY S$%it what the F*&ck was that call you Co*%kSu*$ker Mother Fu*%$r!!!!! I think I am going to VOMIT!!! wait BLAAAAHHHHH I am so pissed I just threw up in my popcorn!!!!!

Ok Subject B is a true old bitter Seattle Sports fan. He has become jaded and his once pure sports heart is now full of memories of Superbowls, phantom balls in AL playoffs to David Justice, 47 free-throw yada yada yada. Same passion as subject A with the bobble heads and stickers. Bottom of the 6th 3 run Homer given up by Pinero. Reaction - "oh it is over" "lets go home". "One run lead, there is no way we are coming back". You start into Pre-Greif.... You are mad as hell at Pinero for giving up the homer. By the 7th you are in the denial stage that it is over, by the 8th you have accepted that they are going to lose. Now in the 9th, man on Sexson at the plate. Same shit call............ Guy next to you vomits into his popcorn and you look at him and say "told you so".
Yes my future is in knitting. No longer will I suffer with those sport fan idiots. No longer will I be pissed for a whole weekend, not able to watch tv or read the paper in fear of seeing something about “that F*$%*# game”.
