Key offseason moves for Hawks

  Posted:

Here are my keys to Seattle getting back to the Superbowl:

1. Re-sign Shaun: yes, he's getting up there in age, but he's still got 3-4 years left in him.

2. Retire Ray Rhodes: It was starting to become a bit ambiguous as to who was leading the D last year. Ray, you have had your good years, it's time to step aside. Bring in someone who knows how to blitz!!!

3. Holgrem, you need to mix up your play calling: He started to flirt w/ this by bringing in Seneca Wallace in the playoffs, but abandoned it in the SB......anyone who plays Seattle knows NOT to expect any trick plays. As you can see w/ Pittsburgh in the SB, well timed trick plays can be killers

4. Re-sign Joe J and Hutch: Yes, he's in his 11th year, but he's nails when it comes to being clutch and he's one of Hasselbeck's favorite targets. Hutch is a no-brainer...he's a stud on that left side.

5. Let go of Grant Winstrom: He has lost a step and it showed in the Superbowl. If we are going to stick w/ our conservative 4 man rush, then we need another bookend on the other side for Fisher to be effective. Winstom is not the answer.

6. J. Stevens to have a strong offseason: if he is to improve from his strong 2005 campaign, he must work doublely hard in the offseason. He's youth and inexperience showed in the Superbowl.

7. Sign some strong Free agents: Players will now want to come to Seattle to play. Another Dyson, Sharper, or Fisher signing is key. We need a solid DE and possibly a FS depending on Hamlin.

Hey, I just found this site. Not much going on in the offseason I guess, since nothing has been posted since Feb. But after reading your comments, just thought you might be interested in this picture. I bought it about a week after the superbowl. Enjoy.
