I know it's only game #3, but losing to Memphis by 20+ points and only scoring 69 points is troubling.
Problems:
1. We have a mediocre coach in Wiess, who does not have a proven track record from previous coaching positions. He's soft, bottom line
2. Robert Swift was a WASTE of a draft pick last year @ #12...that's hurting us this year not having a solid big man

3. Rashard Lewis is still SOFT. He's here one day scoring 20 pts. and 10 rebs, then goes 4 for 12 with 5 turnovers against Memphis. Step up, come prepared to play every night, and play consistant
4. Give Evans and Collison more minutes: why even start Petro? Does he have an incentive contract that if he starts he gets $20K more per year? Sit the guy. Evans can handle most centers w/ his good rebounding techniques and long arms.
5. Ridnour has got to step up. He had a good shot and above average passing skills. Someone should work on his confidence

Long time no blog. I agree on all of your issues with this team. The #1 thing is that last year was an aberration. It was the intersection of a few things that will not come around for a while. In the Pro's I believe that there is a pretty level playing field when you come down one notch from the Kobe's and the Garnets. The second tier players pretty much bring the same thing to the table. So basically the difference between winning and losing is focus. Last year that is what they had. I think a lot of that had to do with Allen needing a new contract. To prove my point just think about the last 2 min of any pro game. Most of them are close and the team that has the best focus wins. The Sonics have nooooooo focus. I think that the Ray Allen contract plus Vladdy Daddy popping off will kill any chance the Sonics have.
