As mentioned before, this is the game of the year for this team. They got over the St. Louis hump, so now it's time to look bigger picture: NFC home field advantage. Again, why are no Seattle reporters discussing the magnitude of this game? This is a PLAYOFF game atmosphere!
Keys to the game:
1. Defense: I usually start out w/ Hasselbeck needing a big game, but it's going to be on the D to step up. NYG are one of the most talented offenses in the league and the biggest challenge this team has faced. Play aggressive
2. Hasselbeck: He has had a good, consistant year. Let's not forget, however, that he really hasn't proven himself in a BIG, BIG game (i.e. NE game last year, any of the 3 losses to St. Louis). Play action is going to be key this game w/ NYG keying on Shaun.
3. Crowd: I hate to say it again, but Seattle fans can be all too quiet sometimes...don't be like Blazer fans, go C-R-A-Z-Y and give this team some support!
Prediction: Seattle in a close one, 24-20

I agree with you on the magnitude of the game. this is a major measuring stick for the hawks. if we win, then people will say we are for real, if we loss, then we are just like they all have said, OVERRATED!!
with that being said, that is what i am interested in seeing. I don't know how good this team really is. as i watch every play of every game, seattle's offense is great. it takes a veteran, well balanced attack to sustain the long drives the hawks put together. especially late in the game, drives that put away the games. the defense on the other hand is sketchy. our DB's are not good enough to hold coverage for long periods of time. If we can get pressure on Eli, and force him to throw quick, unsure passes, we will be golden. the NYG men are only giving up about 1.9 sacks a game and the hawks are averaging 3.6 a game. My key to the game is that single stat. If the G-men hold us to 2 sacks, we lose 23-17. If the G-men give us 4 or more sacks, we win 34-17. if we get 3, who knows. go hawks.
Paul...good comments all around. Well, Seattle ammased 2 sacks, and we won, somehow! As I mentioned in an earlier blog, this team still needs to improve defensively.
