Many of us are gleaming w/ the 7-2 Seahawks record, but let's not forget our past. 1999 we were ranked #1 on ESPN Power Rankings, boasting a 8-2 record. Here's how the rest of the team finished. Granted, that was 6 years ago, so the teams are not the same. I just hope they can keep there winning ways and ride a success wave into the playoffs

Comments:
11. @ 49ers (2-7, Ranked last)
12. Giants (6-3, ranked 8)
13. @ Eagles (4-5, ranked 16)
14. 49ers (See #11)
15. @ Titans (2-7, Ranked 27)
16. Colts (9-0, Ranked #1*)
17. @ Packers (2-7, ranked 18)
The rankings come from Foxsports, which has their own statistical formula. The "formula" has actually dropped the Colts to #6 after adjusting for strength of schedule, because the Colts have apparently had the easiest schedule in 7 years of applying the formula. They have played SF once and the Texans twice. SF and Texans are apparently the two lowest rated teams in the 7 years they have used the formula. They also say that IND has the hardest schedule in the final 7 weeks. But I digress.
According to the formula, Seattle's past schedule ranks #27 and its future schedule ranks #31, with a ranking of #32 being the easiest. The play the Giants and Colts at home, and the Colts may be resting players if they have wrapped up home field. So lets hope IND keeps winning, but that they lose at least one before playin us. Or maybe it would be good if they were undefeated? They would have so much pressure, and the chances of them winning every game would get slimmer as the season goes on. The Hawks would be jacked to end the streak, the stadium would be PACKED. Sounds like fun.
Here are the records, past sched and future sched ranks for the teams we are competing against:
NYG: 6-3, #26, #4
WAS: 5-4, #12, #10
DAL: 6-3, #15, #7
CAR: 7-2, #29, #22
CHI: 6-3, #31, #16
I say NYG, WAS and CHI are alll out of the mix. NYG are going to falter with that schedule. WAS is already far behind, they have a moderately tough sched remaining. Dallas has a tough sched and we bet them already. Chicago has a medium schedule, but it is a lot harder than what they faced in the first half. That gives us a 2 seed, and it will be a dogfight with Carolina.
My point is, (...knock on wood), the Hawks cannot screw this up. Well, of course they could, but if they did it would be a disaster. They have got to at least get the 2 seed!
I would also like to point out that the Hawks defense is currently ranked 15 and the special teams 18, according to their stat system. Those are huge improvements, even since the beginning of the year. The ST are almost always ranked below 25. If they can just keep it up...
