Hawks sign Alexander....NOT good?
I'm a bit skeptical on this one.....
Seattle Times: "His salary is also fully guaranteed, even if he is injured or his skills diminish."
It will be interesting to see how he plays this year, if he's inspired. I'm hoping for the best and that Seattle signs him to a LONG contract!

M's, Hydro's, Soups, and more.....
Ah yes, best time of the year in Seattle. The Sun has emerged from the grey overcast, Safeco is a buzz w/ the winning M's, and the hydro's are heading to Tri-cities...wait, did I say the WINNING M's? Almost forgot there....this team now needs SP more than anything. The should really go after a strong #1-#3 starter for next year and get rid of this yutz's Franklin, Pinero, etc. They are 10-10 pitchers at best and will rocked playing away from Safeco.
The Sonics? Yeah, they got some issues as well. Not sure if Murray is the answer to a back up point guard. Where as I was happy to see James go, losing Daniels hurt. I agree w/ Paul (regular sports blog contributor I might add), that this is going to be another 42-40 Seattle Sonics team this year.
The Hawks? Another year w/ Holgrem/Stadler and Hasslejoke? 8-8 at best. They'll show promise again, but Holgrem is just TOO conservative of a coach to win again in this league.
So, that leaves me w/ the Hydros....as I've mentioned over and over, they have turned a new leaf w/ this sport and have really turned things around. I HIGHLY suggest you get out and root these great teams and this sport this year in Seattle...wish I could be there, but I gotta get married.

Sonics decide on Weiss
hmmmmm, not my first choice, but if it keeps Ray happy, then that's all that matters. I think Weiss is a bit too passive of a coach for my books...and doesn't exactly have the best track record. I would have rather taken Silas or someone else.....

Sonics lose James
This may not be as bad as it seems. James reminded me a lot of Benoit Benjamin....over weight, and now over paid. He'll get torn apart w/the NY media as well. Of course, not sure who will start for us at center.....Swift or the rookie? Yikes!

all time seattle sonics roster
All right folks, time to submit your entries for your top Sonics teams. Here's my entries.....
SG: Fred Brown. Downtown was one of the first legitimate 3 point shooting threats in the league. A smooth touch from the arc.
Close second and third: Ray Allen and Dale Ellis. Now that Seattle has signed him long term, Allen will be #1 in a few years
PG: G. Payton. Not much competition here, although Gus Williams was pretty productive for a number of years. Gary played a long time in a soups uniform and should have his # retired when it's all said and done.
Center: Jack Sikma. Again, not much debate here. Jack was a solid 16 pt. 11 reb guy for a number of years for this organization. Seattle really hasn't had much of a history of centers when you think about it: Benoit B (ouch), Alton Lister, Marvin Webster, Paul Silas (in his later years), Ervin Johnson....you get the point.
SF: Detlef S. this one a bit more difficult to chose, given that Seattle has had some good SF in their day. X-man was really more of a SF w/ Chambers playing PF, so you can't really classify him here. Detlef really personified the SF position. Assist, Rebs, and points....he did it all in his primetime. Other notables: Jonny Johnson
PF: Shawn Kemp. this one's a bit tougher, but I would give the nod to Kemp. Growing up watching him dunk over people was memories of mine at the ole' Coliseum I'll never forget.
Close 2nd: Lonnie Shelton

Mac-10 Gone....
Sad, sad day in Soups history, especially after signing Allen. Simply put, $ talks in sports, bottom line. If he's making double what Seattle is offering, it's a no brainer. There's absolutely no loyalty in sports, as much as fans may think there is.

Sonics sign Allen
Great move, that's all I can say. He is easily in the top 5 players in the league and proved his worth last year. Next step....surround him w/ talent. He has at least 5-7 more productive years ahead of him. Get a big man and keep the core in tact. I still think Rashard Lewis is great trade bait.
