The hawks are making quite a few moves in the off-season, including the recent signing of Dyson from Tenn (CB Andre, not WR silly). It was tough to see Brown leave, who has been the motor of that Defense for so many years. Brown won't have his jersey retired, but he has been a great contributor through the years.
I did not like the release of Simmons or Chike O (did anyone else notice he had 2 of our sacks in the St. Louis playoff game?), but Sharper is a good acquisition. The real problem w/ this D, however, is Rhodes. I have 0% confidence in his ability to correctly call blitzes, running zone D in goal line situation, and overall prevent D (Balt. loss in 2003, Dallas loss on MNF). The team finished 26th in the league last year and was supposedly "improved" w/ Winstrom and Taylor. 26th people....that's not good. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-TOTAL/2004/regular?sort_col_1=4
Finally, what's the story of Alexander. I here Seattle's front office is entertaining 1st round picks...NO MATTER WHERE THE PICK IS. Are you serious? We should be getting 2 FIRST ROUND picks for the #1 RB in the game. Not sure if I agree w/ their choice of just giving him up for a simple first rounder.
